The C.V.B.
Have never been to Sacramento and know absolutely nothing about the region (except it's the state capitol of California). So I figure why not write a column for the ITJ with tourist information.
I will be surfing the Internet on the look-out for those of us who haven't a clue about the Sacramento area, but are looking forward to attending the convention and perhaps a few days before and after.
The web site for the Sacramento CVB (Convention and Visitors' Bureau) at www.DiscoverGold.org is so loaded with tourist information it will take some time, but well worth it in your travel planning for the 2010 International Convention.
Even 150 years after the famous California Gold Rush, visitors are still discovering gold in Sacramento. In the decades since fortune hunters flocked to the region, Sacramento has emerged into a cosmopolitan state capital that still retains its Gold Rush history.
You can find gold without pans or mining equipment. It's in the area's family-friendly attractions, museums, and parks and gardens.
Sacramento is one of the best visitor values in California with lots to do for little or no cost like free tours of the California State Capitol building or sightseeing in historic Old Sacramento.
Things To Do
The Sons of the Desert 2010 Convention activities will keep us busy will kinds of things to do. But before and after the event you may want to experience the area for yourself. You may only have enough time to spend a few minutes browsing, or you a couple of hours to take in the full experience. Either way, the info-filled CVB web site will help you find activities that will work for you while you're in Sacramento.
From museums to galleries, attractions to shopping, and river rafting to golfing, it's all there and so much more. Start your search on the web site list to plan your time while in Sacramento. The web site links include information on:
